I decided to start up Evilution Magazine in late 2003 a few weeks after I resigned as the editor of Metalized Magazine. Having written for Metalized since 1996 and later worked as the editor, it was time to move on. I had thought about starting up my own magazine for quite a while, and when Oliver ‘Misereion’ Holm, Jonas Manley and Mikkel Putzek wanted to join forces with me, Evilution Magazine was born. We all agreed on the concept of the magazine:       

Evilution Magazine is a magazine dedicated to extreme music. We cover black metal, thrash, death, grindcore, doom, stoner, gothic, noisecore, ambient, industrial and folk noir, and feature underground acts as well as established bands. We focus solely on the quality of the music, and publish in-depth interviews with bands we like and find interesting – not what is trendy. We will focus on the bands as a whole, choose a different line of approach in the interviews and not just ask about the latest album, etc. Evilution Magazine will most likely feature bands that are considered ‘politically incorrect’ by the majority. Simply put - we do not care! Evilution Magazine is not a political magazine, which is exactly the reason why we will not limit our choice of bands to satisfy the public view. If we find quality in a band we will feature them, regardless of their political views.

The views expressed in the interviews are not necessarily those of Evilution Magazine.

Evilution Magazine is written in English and each issue will be published in 666 hand-numbered copies. We will furthermore post interviews which will be exclusive to the website and not be published in the magazine.
